At the Heart of our Community

The Children’s Treasury Library was established in 2010 and founded by The Melbourne Athenaeum Library.

Created to provide a welcoming and vibrant space dedicated to promoting literature and the pleasure of reading to children across the city, the library also works closely with local schools to advocate children's literacy and support the Victorian Education curriculum.

The Childrens Treasury library is free to any member of the public to visit and enjoy the lovely Kids reading room. However, as a subsidary of the Melbourne Athenaeum Library, membership via a yearly subscription is required in order to borrow and take books home.
